We were asked to promote the Lung Cancer Campaign. So having this chance we decided to make a huge buzz through flashmobs. Both flashmobs had press coverage. One was a "drop to the ground" whereby around 30 members of the public suddenly dropped to the ground in a high street and put a white sheet over themselves. The second one was a cough choir where people sung the YMCA through coughing.
Moo Moo have been providing outreach engagement with the public to raise awareness of the cancer, the symptoms and treatment. One of our nontraditional methods of engagement was having a hurd of moobies flock the streets, shopping centres, pubs and working mens clubs with "DigiAd" Monitors (strap on TV's) with a bowel cancer advert playing. We have also placed stools (the seat meaning) in shopping centres for one on one engagement with health professionals. We also then had a "Walk In Colon". See below.
We are also promoting the health trainers of Northampton.
We have previously been based in shops and installed a comedy pier style "face-in-the-hole" cutouts to show shoppers what they could look like with the help of having a health trainer. We then provided information and referred them.
We are based in clubs and pubs in Northamptonshire raising awareness of sufficient alcohol intake to help young people know their limits. We have been using scratchcards that assesses their drinking habits to produce a score of risk. Low risk clients get a wristband whereas a high risk gets a tattoo saying "You're a State Mate!".
We have also created a twitter campaign called "One Night in Corby" which follows our moobies live on a pub crawl in Corby. Follow @onenightincorby for pictures, quotes, safe drinking tips and statistics.
